I didn't mind Kishi redrawing the panels...pretty clever IMO. Little details like the water drip and the ear cut were needed to show that he was in a loop.
oh yeah, I agree with how disappointing it is that Kishi just threw the Byakugan in the bushes tho. This is the final arc so you know its completely gone.
but how do u get caught in it? by getting looked at?
. itachi stated in past chapters that he didn't even need to look @ somebody to cast a genjutsu. if izanami is anything like izanagi, it would have to be triggered by something like izanagi needed to B triggered by the death of it's caster..

you don't have to die for izanagi to work, you just have to get hit. Which is why I was like when I saw danzo wasting all his lives like that when fighting sasuke. It looks like Izanami is activated as long as the target is touched by the user. I think it lasts as long as the person is touching the target and then when he/she lets go then it gets broken. Itachi kept saying that he holds kabuto's life in his hands so that's both literal and figurative.
You know, its really a brilliant strategy now that I think about it. Kabuto HAS to break the edo tensei if he wants to get out of the loop because since itachi can't be killed he'll just sit there and keep him trapped in the genjutsu forever.

Nah, Izanagi is a jutsu cast on the caster, so it would make sense that the user wouldn't have to look at anybody to do it. Since Izanami is cast on somebody else, it probably works the same as something like Tsukuyomi, where eye contact is necessary to activate the jutsu.

But if it required eye contact then it wouldn't have worked on Kabuto. Remember, he intentionally blinded himself so he wouldn't get caught in a genjutsu.
We probably just need to accept that Itachi stays having cheat codes and can do whatever he wants.

You don't have to die or get hit for Izanagi to work...you can use it whenever you want as long as you're willing to sacrifice an eye.
That's just how Danzo used it. But I can see why. Izanagi only lasts for like a minute or something, and then the eye closes, so you don't want to waste it. Using it when you have a mortal injury makes perfect sense. What didn't make sense was that it seemed like Danzo was wasting eyes by taking attacks he probably could have avoided.

You know, I could make up a semi-reasonable explanation for this involving light refraction, nerve reactions and synapses and mental image coalescence that would probably allow for it to be performed by eye contact regardless.
But your explanation actually makes more sense than me trying to justify it.

Wait, if you can use it whenever you want, then that means you have to use it predicting that an attack will happen. And you have to activate it like a split second before you get hit if you didn't expect to get hit. But that sounds like a reasonable explanation
I didn't know about that other site back then, but how did you guys react on there back when the cloud village was revealed? You have a guy who creates a world where black people don't exist and then BAM! just like that a whole village filled with them, and they're the second strongest ninjas around
