im definitely not gettin into a interweb troll debate wit u, when u couldnt even read my entire statement regarding pacino/deniro acting (especially in heat) to renner in just that film alone. of course im not comparing their catalog dumbass. Heat > town and i enjoyed the town. if anyone acted well in that movie it was ben affleck, renner hasnt changed his style since he became a known hollywood selling tool. those movies u mentioned were when he was a nobody. he soldout to become an action hero. troll elsewhere kid

Yeah because professional bank robbers play games and fall in love with women they kidnap

"The Town" was a good flick to watch...but it was/is forgettable...so much of the "drama" was forced just to create tension when it could have been avoided from the get go.

Heat playing off the actions/reactions of Waingro throughout the film...that ultimately came full circle...the personal issues between Val Kilmer and his wife....Deniro and his girl... Pacino and his wife...they all had they own **** going on...which drove alot of the story telling...the shootout...speaks for itself....Deniro dies in the end holding his nemesis hand...the movie is damn near perfect

The Town...Ben Affleck lives...after all the reckless/unprofessional **** that happens....and with a sloppy crew to bat..

'The Town' is dope..but it's biggest flaw is it doesn't have the narrative arc of 'Heat', certainly not the other way around, the book 'The Town' is based on is like a Greek tragedy, the movie was good, but didn't have the depth of the novel.

'Heat' is one of my favorite movies of all time, love the music, the scenes, the actors, I can't even watch the last part sometimes...love the dialog, and way the score compliments the scenes...

'You know I don't know what you're doing, remember what Jimmy told us on the yard, you want to make moves on the street, you don't have anything you can't walk away from in 30 sec you see the see around the corner'

'For me, the sun rises and sets with her'

The problem with Heat is its narrative arc, which is a clumsily fused together mix of Pacino's domestic life, his desire to capture DeNiro, Kilmer's crumbling marriage, DeNiro's growing love for the woman, heists, etc. It's just not well put together. I like Mann's films, and The Insider is a masterpiece, but he doesn't get it done in Heat. The Town is razor sharp.

Disagree. It's spelled out in you're post, Pacino is chasing De Niro, losing his wife, Kilmer's got his wife but is losing it, while chasing the money/rush, De Niro is trying to chase love...all the parallels and contrasts, themes, I think it's close to perfect. When I was younger like 14 15 I thought it was too long and slow, but now, I think different. 'The Town' doesn't go far enough, when the material was there, maybe they thought it wouldn't be appreciated by a wider audience.

Yet you provide no example of how "clumsily" it is put together...but you make a comment that "The Town" is razorsharp. You didnt even reply to comment that said in what universe do professional bank robbers fall in love with the women they kidnap and string them along the entire movie with the risk that the whole crew is going down

Your a novice when it comes to movie analysis

I'm starting to think this dude worked on "The Town" in some capacity. **** was ok but it wasn't that movie like dude is making it seem. And the ending was pretty stupid too.

Fred.

In what universe do professional bank robbers sit across from police lieutenants in restaurants and talk about how if they meet someday on the job they won't hesitate to take each other down?

Within the context of the film, Affleck and Hall's love story was completely plausible. There have been many cases of "victims" developing relationships with the "victimizers", stockholm syndrome and otherwise.

Some people are too often overly impressed by the pedigree of a film.

I liked the ending of 'The Town', wanted to see Affleck win...and it doesn't impact the movie much, but dude just went to Florida? Really? And the feds aren't going to trace a 100,000 donation to the YMCA in Charelstown or whatever?

Simple...they both were keeping tabs on each other..that was made evident by Niel setting them up on the dock....Pacino's character didnt have anything substantial at the time that would stick..Niel knew that...why not have a cup of cofee with your nemesis?
