I still can't believe how Twilight blew up like it did - Sports, Hip Hop & Piff Forum

There are so many more deserving series of books in the same lane that deserve to blow up like Twilight did. Mind you i listened to Twilight after it blew up and between book 3 and 4.

really the first book was ok and that's a stretch. the rest of the series got progressively worse and worse.

The Hunger Games blew up and even with the shitty 3rd book i'm pleased it made it. there's stuff like City of Bones and Vampire Academy that are getting movie treatments that should do way better than Twilight but they probably won't.

looking back at Twilight Jacob was probably the only half likable character and that's pushing it. Bella was a really shitty main character and a self absorbed entitled *****. Edward had no depth and only existed to the the "perfect gentleman" and fall in love with Bella for no reason whatsoever beyond his love for her he wasn't even a real person.. the Volturi were the best part about the series and were almost completely ignored. the **** had no real action, humor, or anything interesting going on.

why do people like Twilight so much?

I have a very intelligent daughter who has read all these books in there entirety multiple time. She loves them
Got her mom to read one, then she ended up reading them all saying they were excellent
When the new movie drops, they make an event out of it
Its a book/movie that really touches a nerve.... in WOMEN

I personally can't speak on it cuz I haven't read a book or seen either of the movies. But I can say that more people out there disagree with your feelings
But then again.. what else is new

Unless you're a 12 year old girl, or a 40+ year old woman that thinks she's a 12 year old girl, you lost for reading that ****. Matter of fact, you lost doubly for reading it then coming online to discuss any aspect of it, including why it's popular.

I mean....c'mon son:

I'm all for being progressive but there ain't no god damn reason a grown man should be reading that ****.

never read it but watched the 1st movie when it came on FX to see what it was about and quickly realized it wasn't for me.

Seems like theres an over saturation of this young adult book into movie ****. vampire academy, night world, hunger games, creatures or whatever its called..i know nothing about this ****. 12 yr old girls runnin this ****. We cant even get a good gi joe flick. Wtf.
