The Ignore feature should ban the user from posting in your threads
I've seen a few other forums with this, it helps some with derailment because butt buddies won't take threads the other person makes off topic as often.....I don't even know if it's possible on a vbullentin forum but just an idea

Yes. It should ban people from posting in your threads and ban people from seeing your posts.
The way I've seen it implemented the best, it stops the user from posting in your threads, quoting you in any thread, even mentioning your username in tags. Also it completely erases that users activity from the forum, no *this user is ignored* notifications it just completely hides everything they do from view

What type of idiotic logic is that? So a user's freedom should be limited because you are a ***** made ******?
If I make a thread about a tv show or album or event etc., why should a user on my ignore list be banned from posting in it?

If a user has already been delightful enough to gain access to your ignore list, chances are they are not going to enter the thread about your car to compliment you on your choice of paintjob
Threads getting derailed for 5 pages by users staking each other would abruptly end if this feature were added.
You can keep saying this is somehow about me, but I actually have no users on ignore I'm just tired (like I'm sure many people are) of threads getting taken way off topic by two posters flirting with each other / arguing over bullshit
