it doesnt hurt not too
part of getting on track is educating yourself on proper lifting and what this and that really does for you
the biggest thing I had to learn was that my goals arent always the same as the brolic dude lifting 150lb dumbbells, IE I'm doing phat to increase the size of the muscles i currently have...but if i didn't develop a strength base first I would be spinning my wheels. I had to learn that through years of lifting that had I had read alittle and asked for help from the right places could of had those results in months.
so like I said, reading doesn't hurt. The more knowledgeable you are the better you can attain your goals. Just don't be afraid to ask and most importantly be real with yourself on what you need
