We've came a LONG way from that first tourney on May 20th...

it was 3 hours and 20 minutes long...our first winner was our most recent tourney winner, actually - @Walt (HandsomeTDW) - and he received 2653 CC for his first place win.

A few club changes here, some established rules there, and 80+ games later (High Roller Tourneys never counted toward the standings, BTW), and Coli Poker is still trucking.

I (MH360) won the first Weeknight tourney, which originally started out on Wednesday nights. @Cockmeat Sandwich aka Courtdog (Courtdog703) won the final weeknight tourney of 2012.

@The_Unchosen_One (The_Unchosen) also deserves his props for sharing the most weeknight tourney wins title (5, tied with QuarterCenturyLegend!)

But of course, it wasn't just about whether you won outright, or not...chances are, you'd see a lot of the same folks at the final table. Depending on the players and your finish, you'd get points, which rewarded consistency at the top.

With all the points added up, I now present the points champion of 2012:



Me!

@The_Unchosen_One finished second.
@yoyoyo1 finished third in the standings.

I'll look into Coli Cash prizes for our Top 3...but with that said, it's not hard to figure out why I finished at the top:
I played the most.



But it wasn't just about the points, the standings also tell some more stories:

We had 20+ people who played 15 games or more. Even with the rough turnouts we've dealt with, and save for Christmas/New Year's, we always had enough people to play a tourney...and I've been grateful for that. Thank you guys for showing up, playing your asses off, and the entertaining chats along the way.

Most importantly, thanks for the intense competition. We clearly had off days...but for the most part, our regs were patient, played smart, and played to win

And while I benefited from playing substantially more than anybody, I can say with all honesty that I would be lucky to place Top 5 if some of my competitors had as many games under their belt as I did...

Now obviously, the interesting thing here is that we had a player named after a smilie. Even better, in that sole game, that person won the entire tourney...and never played again.

So congrats to Suck Me Beautiful (Suck Me B aka ) for the statistical anomaly (5.03 average!), and the laugh.

Shoutouts also go to @cheek100 for the third place finish in his sole tourney, and to @Dog Based Gremlin for not playing more

Let's keep going for 2013...

We've made big changes:

- increased the buy-ins
- went monthly
- streamlined things for simplicity

And we've already seen how this will be a different year...yoyoyo1 is clearly ready to make his mark, starting with taking top honors (so far) for January 2013:



I put a lot of effort into this...and while I had my moments (vetting bets )

...I always felt like I was building something, and it was worth it. I got a lot of love and thanks and daps for my effort, but the best part was knowing that a few of you looked forward to these poker nights.
