The USA Select Team Roster Is Down Below, Hopefully NBATV Plays The Scrimmages Between The Select Team And The National Team
Members of the USA Select Team will assemble in Las Vegas and conduct a training session July 5, then train with the USA National Team July 6-11 (12:00-3:00 p.m. PDT). All practices will take place at UNLV’s Mendenhall Center.
The USA National Team will open its 2012 training with a July 6-12 training camp in Las Vegas, Nev., that concludes with the July 12 (6:00 p.m. local time) USA Basketball Showcase that features the USA facing the Dominican Republic at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center.

Anthony Davis got the Golden Ticket, the invite to the ball — he got an invite to the USA Basketball Training Camp. He got in the door due to injuries — Dwight Howard is out, LaMarcus Aldridge may well be out and Team USA could use some size to deal with the Spanish front line.
But don’t expect him to make the team.
Jerry Colangelo, the man who leads this country’s effort in international basketball, says Anthony Davis is a “long shot” to make the United States’ Olympic team this summer. “Because of inexperience and etc., etc,” he said.
Yet, Davis, who turned 19 in March, might be a long shot that pays off, the USA Basketball chairman added in a telephone interview last week.
“He’s not a guard competing for a guard position where we’re reasonably deep,” Colangelo said in appraising Davis’ chances to making the U.S. team.
Davis probably will not make it, the USA can go with Tyson Chandler at it’s starting five and in international ball get away with guys like Kevin Love at center. Davis can certainly bring the defense but his offensive game isn’t nearly on par with the rest of the guys, not yet anyway. But the USA is not deep along the front line and one more injury could see Davis playing.
Carmelo Anthony "Excited" About Reuniting With Ex-NY Knicks Coach Mike D'Antoni For Olympics
Mike D’Antoni did not attend Carmelo Anthony’s SoHo birthday celebration Friday morning. The two were not the best of friends during their 73 games together in New York.
But Anthony anticipates an affable reunion when he and D’Antoni meet for the U.S. Olympic basketball team’s first practice on July 6 in Las Vegas.
“It’ll be good to reunite with him,” Anthony said Monday at a midtown event promoting USA Basketball and Jeep. “When he left there wasn’t any bad blood between me and him.”
Anthony has mostly relaxed following the Knicks’ first-round loss to the Miami Heat and the scrutiny he received during the series. He spent two weeks away from the gym after the Game 5 loss, and celebrated his 28th birthday around town last week.
“I got a lot of flak for a lot of stuff,” he said.
Anthony is “back in the lab” preparing for the London Olympics and hopes for a repeat of 2008, when he and D’Antoni, an assistant coach, helped the U.S. capture gold in Beijing.
“He was a big part of the ’08 win, and he’s there again,” Anthony said. “I’m actually excited about going over there and trying to win a gold medal with him again.”

I think Durant being out there will end all of that. It sounds weird to say considering who else is on the team and his age and the fact that he's not a vocal leader like LeBron, but I just don't see Durant lettingbthisvtesm have any major lapse like when they lost to Greece in '06.
Of course, something could happen in the Finals to prevent Durant (and LeBron) from playing, so

We lost in '04 because of the construction of that team. Both of the point guards were ballhogs and we had no true center.
